Walk Aylsham - Summer 2014

PictureGuided wildflower walk June 2014
A series of short guided walks to discover more about Aylsham was held during the summer of 2104.  All the walks were timed to link in with trains arriving at the Bure Valley Railway Station.

The first walk in June was a wildflower walk led by Mary.  The surprise event was the discovery of a group of bee orchids - much to the delight of the walkers.

The other 3 walks had a historical theme; the History or Aylsham, the History of Aylsham Inns and Taverns, and the History of Aylsham via the Marriott's Way.  The walks were guided by Sheila Merriman,
a member of the Aylsham Local History Society.

Aylsham Show - August Bank Holiday 2014

Picture
Do you remember how wet the bank holiday was?  Committee members of the Aylsham Welcomes all Walkers were there on the Norfolk Trails stand.  In spite of the rain, we had plenty of visitors to the stand, with many coming from the Aylsham area.  And it was a great opportunity to talk about gaining 'Walkers are Welcome' status for Aylsham.  The booklets covering the Weavers' Way Circular Walks went like hotcakes!
